Store-bought mango sorbet often costs too much for too little or just tastes like artificial mango. This homemade Ninja Creami mango sorbet solves both problems: real fruit flavor, simple ingredients, and a fraction of the cost.

Ninja Creami mango sorbet is dairy-free and requires only frozen mango, a touch of water and lime, and optional sweetener. Blend until smooth, freeze the pint for 24 hours, then process on the Sorbet setting. If the texture is crumbly after the first spin, a quick respin with a little water turns it silky and scoopable. Real mango, real flavor, minimal fuss.

This recipe is one I make on repeat—because using actual mango yields authentic flavor that tastes like tropical sunshine.

Ingredients You’ll Need

(Full measurements are in the recipe card below.)

  • Frozen mango chunks — Use ripe, sweet mango (fresh and then frozen, or store-bought frozen). Taste a piece first to judge sweetness. Let the frozen mango sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before blending so it purees smoothly.
  • Water — A small amount helps the blender process the mango into a pourable mixture. Don’t skip it.
  • Lime juice — Fresh lime juice brightens and balances the mango, making the flavor pop.
  • Sweetener (optional) — White sugar, honey, agave, or a sugar substitute. Add only if your mango isn’t sweet enough; you can always adjust after blending.

How to Make Ninja Creami Mango Sorbet

  1. Blend until smooth. Add partially thawed frozen mango, water, lime juice, and sweetener to a blender. Blend until completely smooth with no chunks remaining. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  2. Pour into the Ninja Creami pint. Scrape the blender with a spatula to transfer all of the mixture into the pint container, staying below the max fill line.
  3. Freeze for 24 hours. Place the pint on a flat, level surface in your freezer. A level freeze helps the machine process evenly.
  4. Warm the pint briefly. Run the outside of the frozen pint under warm water for 30–60 seconds before installing it in the machine. This loosens the outer layer so the blade can cut through uniformly.
  5. Process on Sorbet setting. Install the pint and run the Sorbet cycle. Let the machine complete the full cycle without interruption.
  6. Respin if needed. It’s common for mango sorbet to be crumbly after the first spin. Add 1–2 tablespoons of water to the center of the pint and use the Respin function to achieve a creamy consistency.

Tips for the Best Results

Expect a crumbly first spin. Mango sorbet often looks powdery right after the initial Sorbet cycle. One or two respins with a tablespoon or two of water turns it into a smooth, scoopable sorbet.

Don’t overfill the pint. The mixture expands slightly when freezing. Keep it below the max fill line so the lid seals properly and the blade can operate safely.

Freeze on a level surface. An uneven freezer shelf creates an uneven freeze that can strain the blade and cause inconsistent texture. Use a flat shelf for best results.

Choose ripe mango. Ripe mango delivers the best flavor. If your mango is underripe, the sorbet will taste tart or flat. If using frozen varieties, Ataulfo or Kent are typically sweeter and very flavorful.

Variations to Try

  1. Mango pineapple — Replace half the mango with frozen pineapple chunks for a bright tropical mix.
  2. Mango coconut — Substitute coconut water for plain water to add a subtle coconut note.
  3. Spicy mango — Add a pinch of chili powder and an extra squeeze of lime for a sweet-and-spicy twist.
  4. No sweetener — If your mango is very ripe and naturally sweet, skip added sugar and taste the blended puree first.

To store leftover sorbet, smooth the top, replace the lid, and return it to the freezer. When ready to serve again, let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes to soften slightly and then use the Respin setting for fresh creaminess. Properly stored, the sorbet keeps up to three months.
