- Step 1: Melt the candy wafers in a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave. Stir in vegetable shortening to improve dipping consistency.
- Step 2: Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Dip each Oreo halfway into the melted white candy and place it on the prepared sheet to set.
- Step 3: Tint some of the remaining white candy with green food color. Transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
- Step 4: Pipe a simple tree shape onto each dipped cookie, then immediately add sprinkles so they stick to the warm candy.
Hint: Tweezers help place a tiny star or the trunk sprinkle precisely on each tree.
Recipe variations and substitute ideas

- Almond bark — another easy melting alternative.
- Peppermint or flavored Oreos — swap in any Oreo variety.
- Green candy melts — use directly instead of coloring white candy.
- Candy cane design — pipe red and white stripes instead of trees.
- Golden Oreos — a lighter cookie base option.
