Ingredients:
1 3/4–2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 package active dry yeast (Red Star recommended)
2 1/4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1 egg
3/4 cup strawberry jam (for filling)
Chocolate Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup strawberry jam
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 1/2–2 cups powdered sugar, adjusted to desired consistency
Additional: Chocolate-covered strawberries (optional, for garnish)

- In a mixing bowl fitted with a dough hook, whisk together 1 3/4 cups flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Warm the butter, milk, and water together until the mixture reaches 90–110°F (lukewarm).
- Slowly pour the warm liquid into the dry ingredients and mix until the flour is absorbed.
- Add the egg, then gradually add more flour as needed until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead briefly, and punch down.
- Let the dough rest for 10 minutes, then roll it into an 11×15-inch rectangle.
- Spread 3/4 cup strawberry jam evenly over the dough, then roll it tightly from one long side to the other.
- Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and arrange them cut-side up in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cover and place the dish in a warm spot to proof until the rolls double in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, until set and slightly springy.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before frosting.
- While the rolls cool, prepare the frosting: beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth, then add the strawberry jam and cocoa powder and mix until combined.
- Gradually add powdered sugar until the frosting reaches your desired thickness and sweetness.
- Spread the frosting over the warm (but not hot) rolls. Top each roll with a chocolate-covered strawberry if desired.
